Something that the Degas House exclusively offers to our brides is the add-on experience of "Dressing of the Bride." The experience takes place in the Estelle Suite, which is the historic bedroom of Estelle Musson, Edgar Degas' cousin and sister-in-law. The bride and her bridal party spend the night in the room the night before the wedding day. In the morning they get to enjoy a gourmet Creole cook to order breakfast.
To save on stress the bride can choose to have her hairdressers and makeup artists come to the Degas House and up to the Estelle Suite to get ready. The bride will let the Degas House Event Staff know when she would like her lunch and attendant to join her in the Estelle Suite. Both of which are included in the "Dressing of the Bride" experience.
The beautiful Estelle Suite expands onto the balcony and reveals historic Esplanade Avenue. Inside the suite there is a spacious king size bed, a day bed and a trundle bed. If the bride were to need more space for her bridal party, the Josephine Room opens into the Estelle Suite and can provide the additional queen size bed and bathroom to accommodate her needs. To arrange for a viewing of the Estelle Suite or for more information, please call (504) 821-5009 or email us at events@degashouse.com.
