#1 - Satchmo Summerfest 2022

The Satchmo SummerFest is a festival held annually to honor Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, a jazz musician who was born and raised in New Orleans. Satchmo is known throughout the nation for his raspy voice and his incredible instrumental skills. Satchmo revolutionized jazz music and his influence is still prevalent in the genre today.

Satchmo Summerfest 2022 Dates:

The Satchmo Summerfest is being held this year on August 6th and 7th. The weekend will include live music, food, drinks, and other special activities.

Satchmo Summerfest 2022 Location:

The Satchmo Summerfest 2022 will be held at the New Orleans Jazz Museum. All the outdoor events at the festival will feature live bands on three different stages. Come see the best of New Orleans' musicians! Most of these musicians will be playing jazz inspired or written by Satchmo. #2 - HexFest 2022: A Weekend of Witchery in Old New Orleans

New Orleans has a magical history, especially in the Crescent City. Voodoo, Hoodoo, and Witchcraft all overlap here to weave an enchanting spiritual extravaganza. Each year, the Witches of New Orleans host the HexFest. It is a weekend of workshops, rituals, and history. Come and enjoy this magical experience in New Orleans. HexFest 2022 is to be held at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel.

HexFest 2022 Cost:

Registration includes admittance to all rituals, performances, dining, workshop, and more! The festival is open to both local residents and tourists. Admittance is $350 for the entire weekend. #3 - Coolinary New Orleans 2022

#4 - Dinner Detective New Orleans 2022

Want to experience a night of mystery, thrill, and fun? Attend America's largest interactive comedy murder mystery dinner theatre show in New Orleans. You get to solve a mystery all while eating a delicious dinner. Anyone in the room could end up being a part of the show! As the night goes on, clues will be revealed and the detectives will help you solve the mystery. All mystery experiences are set in the present day.

The shows run 2-3 times a month year-round. In August there will be a show on the 6th and 13th. Each show runs from 6-9 pm and includes dinner.

#5 - New Orleans Salsa Bachata Festival 2022

This August, let's get those hips to work and learn to dance the bachata during the Salsa Bachata Festival! The festival includes zesty live performances, interactive workshops, Latin-themed parties, and exciting concerts. Each day of the festival begins with instructional lessons by top instructors followed by non-stop dancing and partying.

The festival begins on Thursday, Aug 11th, and continues through Monday, Aug 15th. Each day is filled with dancing, music, and fun. Prepare to have the time of your life!

#6 - NOLApalooza Summer Show 2022

The NOLApalooza Festival is a summer music festival that features musical artists from the last three decades that have performed at the Lollapalooza festivals. Lollapalooza takes place each August in Chicago, but this year the School of Rock Metairie/New Orleans is bringing NOLApalooza to New Orleans. Enjoy musical artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, and many more!

The festival will take place from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm on Sunday, August 7th, 2022.

#7 - New Orleans Gift & Jewelry Show 2022

The New Orleans Gift and Jewelry Show is one of the largest shows of its kind. It began in 1952 and has grown today to attract 13,000 buyers and 400 booths. You must be over the age of 12 to access the show. It is a cash and carry show so be sure to bring cash along with a bag to hold your new purchases!

The New Orleans Gift & Jewelry show is only open to the public on Saturday, August 20, 2022, and Sunday, August 21, 2022. Doors are open both days from 10 am to 5 pm.

The New Orleans Gift & Jewelry Show is hosted at the New Orleans Earnest North Morial Convention Center.

New Orleans Gift & Jewelry Show 2022 Cost:

For those ages 12-15, admission is free. For those 16 years and older, the cost of entry is $15. Tickets can only be purchased with cash. There is free admission on Sunday the 21st for all military and front-line workers.

#8 - Arts Market New Orleans 2022

The New Orleans Arts Market is the longest-running art market in the city! A market is held each month that features artwork made by New Orleans and Gulf Coast artists. All the artwork that is featured is affordable and handmade. Art ranges from paintings to photography to handmade clothing. You are bound to find something at the Art Market that you can't live without!
